Default 1992 sc400 Compatibility Or Same (ECU)?

I have done my research on here and found some good information on the ECU compatibility with my 1992 sc400 , but none of it is solid as, "yess this years through this years will work, " hope im making sense.

My Question still be what year, through what year ECU will be compatible with OR the(same) as my 1992 sc400 ?

Oh!, and is the Ls400 ECU the same as those of the sc400? If so, can I use that ECU as well? What year ?

Reason why I'm Imy planning to replace the ECU is, because I am having the common white smoke on cold starts and bogs at warm temperature.

No the LS400 ecu looks like 1jzgte ecu and 2jzgte vvti ecu. it will not work on your SC4.

92-94 SC400 ecu are interchangeable .

95 will only work on 95.

Just realize that you're going to replace one problem ECU with another if you just buy one from a parts car. They're all the same age and will have the exact same problems unless they've been rebuilt.

Mileage doesn't matter. The capacitors rupture even if the car sits in a salvage yard or the ECU is on a shelf. Age is what kills them.

A different ECU might buy him some time, or it might be worse than his original one. At best, another used ECU will buy a little time but it is nowhere near a permanent fix.

I wonder how hard it would be to swap to a ninety five ecu. I believe only the MAF is different, everything else seems to be the same.

you can use a 95 96 ecu problem is your engine light will always be on. if you find one for cheap use it while you have your old 92 ecu rebuilt if you cant have down time. if you can have down time just have your ecu rebuilt dont by used ones

Okaay guys , Quick up date , soww I managed to get a used 94'ECU for 40 $ off some guy on craigslist , replaced it, and acceleration, bogging, white smoke, and rich smell of gas continued , (really upsetting) , any way I came to realizing maybe its an ignition coil/s told my buddy to buy me one at his shop , replaced the one on the far right passengers side, restarted my ECU, turned it on, and it works perfect now ! problem fixed ! Haha thats what I said , im a happy man now .

AnyWay, I want to point out to anyone who is starting with a pre-owened SC , to replace your ignition coils before they go out on you unexpectedly, and before you replace the ECU or assume its them ECU, since its a cheaper way to go , then if that doesnt work , move on to replacing the ECU.

Hope This helps future sc oweners.
