So after a year of trying to find a new console piece I decided to have a friend of mine that owns a car audio shop paint it. Could not be happier. Looks a 1000% better than the factory finish and is a perfect paint match. If anyone needs to have one done, let me know and I will give you his contact info. Car is fixing to get a new front soundstage upgrade also for 2018 so I can show off the system a little bit more.

Did you refinish the wood trim around the gated shifter too or is that how it's supposed to look new?

Looks original to me. Possibly removed and polished with a light polish to make it look a bit nicer but most definitely looks OEM. I have a spare console off a 98-00 and it looks like that.

Shane's car is just well taken care of, unlike most SCs on this forums where the interiors look like the owners ate McDonald's in their car every afternoon and let angry dogs inside that chewed everything up and clawed at every surface. This is nice to see for a change.

I just polished it all really good. Interior of this car is pretty much like new. I’ve replaced almost every part in it. Most everything was almost perfect when I bought it but some of the “little” things were replaced to make it look new.

The reason I asked was because the color is so much darker and richer than mine (faded from the sun). I wasn't sure if that was how it looked new or it was refinished.

Yeah... that California sun is good at destroying interiors. I'm replacing a lot of parts for the 2nd time.

That looks like a new factory part! Beautiful! I might look into getting this done to mine as well.

I personally like the wood in our SC's, I've kept mine the whole time.

Yours is bar none best all tan, among my favorite interiors with GadgetSC and 97-SC300.

Thank you for posting this amazing build for the past 5.5 years now. I have been reading this every night for the past week, and finally caught up to the newest post.

New tails came in today. Also have replaced all the weather stripping around both doors. May order new moon roof next to get a new seal for no more wind noise.

That's something I would have never thought to change, but now that you mentioned it. I do want to have new seals one day.

Brand new tails are so subtle, but make such a huge difference.
