Default small dent, car is totaled

eating breakfast and someone backed into my car.
got the guys insurance.
adjuster inspected the car today and claimed it to be totaled.

any idea what i'm looking at receiving from the insurance company?

2000 SC300
silver with black leather.
150,000 miles

more than likely, i'll buy the car back from the insurance company and keep it for a few more months.

I wouldn't say small dent lol but deff not worth being totaled over.
I have no idea what you can get back, but I sure do hope you get that sc back on the road again soon

My '99 was totaled twice in the same year (2009). The first time I got more money than I paid for the car and so I bought the car back for $1100. Second time I got 75% of the initial payment.

Luckily I didn't really fix the car yet from the first accident so at the end of it, I basically had enough $ to fix the car, mod it, and pay for books.

That would be 5k worth of work to fix or more from ins company standards but a good body guy can for sure fix that so find that guy and keep the extra money for your self.

All a total loss has to be is 75% of what the adjuster deems the car to be worth which is always low anyhow.

Major labor to r&r a rear quarter panel as both windshield and rear windo will have to be removed most likely plus the cost of the quarter from lexus etc etc.

Wow, I wonder how does the insurance thing works here in the US. Back in Philippines that's an easy fix that even PDR can do it perfect. Nobody wins against the insurance company huh.

I see a wide body in your future =)

I'd definately buy it back cheap, and fix it up. It's well worth saving the car.
The only thing about it, if you want to sell the car down the road, it may have a salvage title.
But if you're keeping your car 4life who cares, drive it and enjoy that beauty.
It's sad that it happened to such a clean car, dumb asses can't even back up like normal ppl.

I'm sorry man that's just pisses me off to see this...
