Hey guys, I jsut did my Yellow box install and it was a breeze. I purchased it with the P'n'P harness, but the plug didn't line up (no biggie).
I cut the plugs off of the yellow box (from here on out YBR), and on my 92 SC4 the wiring was like so
Car Yellow box
Yellow-----------------------tap----------------------------Red
Red--------------------------tap----------------------------Black
Blue/Red (Speed sensor side)----------------------White
Blue/Red (Wiring harness side)--------------------Gray
The install took me about ten minutes or so.
After I wired it up, I pushed the plug up through the shifter hole (since I plan to mount it in that area). And did my calibrations.
At first I was a little nervous since I've never done it before, so I tested the unit off and made sure everything was working.
On my car, my speedo would read 45 MPH, even though I was going about 70 MPH (based off of my GPS).
So I've got it close enough to where it's about 3 MPH's off, and that only took me a few minutes to setup!
So for me, I knew that on my cluster 45 MPH @ 2200 RPM was roughly 70 MPH. At that point I set the YBR to -50% by the dip switches, and with the car on the lift, I drove it there. At 2200 RPM's it put me at over 80 MPH, so I backed it down.
Shut off the car, adjusting the YBR to about 35.5% and that got me right on 70MPH! So at that point, I took the car off the lift, set up my GPS, and put cruise control at 40 MPH (on the cluster). Saw that it was off by about 3 MPH, got to my destination, and set the YBR to 35% and tried it again.
Unfortunately I had to come back to work, so I've got it pretty close in my settings, and I'm totally happy with the unit.
Prior to the YBR, I was thinking about using a Dakota Digital box, but the DD box just didn't have the precise increments that I was looking for.
The YBR has me sold, the ease of install, and the price, you can't beat it. The only thing is, the product comes from Down Under so it does take a little time to get it here, but I'm telling you, it's definitely worth the wait.
Or for reference, if you're wondering why my Speedo was so far off, it's because my SC4 is mated to a W58 from a MKIII (with a Marlin Crawler Mechanical to Electronic Speed Sensor) and a GS400 3.26 rear end.

Thank you very much for the review/writeup! I will be getting one of these soon for my 5-speed. My speedo error is very minor compared to yours however (roughly 5-6mph too fast).
We've been messaging each other about the 3.26 or 3.77, I'm still on the fence with both (still have 3.92) and wanted some input from your experience and how it ties in to what mtnrat also posted in detail after the switch. I'm kinda liking the torque and have found myself driving the car more thru backroads and twisties but do not enjoy it as much on the freeways or anything above 80mph since the gearing is too short. 65mph and 3200 rpm sucks. I want some improvement but do not want to lose much low end torque. How is the low end torque compared to when you had it at stock gearing? Also, what is your rpm reading at 65 now? Thanks.
