It's never critical unless you need it to be (ie. Tracking). For daily drivers out there, it's negligible unless the inconsistency is so bad. Many like to slam their cars beyond the usable stroke of the OEM suspension geometry. At that point, spring rate inconsistency is the least of your concern unfortunately.

 

I would hold out for a real set of coilovers personally.

 

I once bought those for my s13,its not bad for $45 , but they want $150 for these.

Anyway, you will blow your factory shock in a week. Now if you have some kind of a welder and some grinding and cutting tools then i recommend to knock your self out. You just cut the lower spring tray ,slip the sleeve over it and weld a bead on the bottom of the sleeve (where u want it) and your done. Like i said, if it was like $45 for all 4 then its worth it, but $150 plus all the labor is too much of a headache.

 

Oh great, now they are making universal "coilovers" for SC's.....

 

Yea not a good look ... Universal = probelms

 

I was gonna consider getting these but when you include the price of some new struts you fall $150 or so short of getting a cheap set of new coilovers like megans or cxracing with damper control.

..usually they ride horrible and low china quality
