Default Coilovers vs Spring/Shocks in Price (did a search)

I did a search and didn't get a direct answer to my question, so i figured i'd post. I know coilovers are pretty expesive $1000+. I was curious what it would cost to replace my shocks and springs + installation vs that of coilovers. Are coilovers worth it in price to do? Will they last longer than shocks and springs will? My stock ride is getting harsh and i know it's time to replace, just want to see if coilovers are the way to go. Info guys/gals?

the performance and adjustability alone of the coilover already spells enough pros than cons to me to get them. i would never go back to springs/shocks setup anymore

regarding price, for coilovres, you probably pay couple hundreds more overall

If i do decide to go with coilover, i would like to get a set of Tein's. Preferably a set that allows the edfc, because i would like to adjust the comfort of my ride. Which models allow this remote to work with them so i can do my research on them?

from all the research i've done - the tein cs setup is the crowd fav on here. i picked up a set of shocks/springs and have regretted it everyday since then. good luck.

I would say that if you could find a set of CS, those and EDFC and install, you're looking at about 2 grand. I got the L-Tuned Shocks and Springs installed for under 700. I read alot of people regretting the S/S decision, but I didn't have the extra 500 for the coilover and install and I'm happy with the L-Tuned package. If it were only a couple hundred dollars difference, I'd have waited

Now, some used Teins and install might not push you too far over the 1000 mark, so...

well edfc is not a must, and personally i don't see the need of it for my car. that's why i don't have it for both my gs400 and sc430 (or my old is300)

eveyrthing with install it was about 1400 or so i forgot. in my case i am ok

Ok so you guys have helped my with all the positives on coilovers, and i can see that the price difference w/ install is going to be a lil different. I have decided on coilovers. Unless someone can convince me of something that would push me away from coils. How is life on them? How often do they need to be re-gassed?
