Default Headlamp socket burned

Recently I've noticed that my passenger side headlamp was out. I thought it was going to be a simple bulb swap-out but then I noticed that the actual connector was burned (turned out the bulb was fine, tested it on driver side).

First, what would cause my connector to burn? Secondly, is there something I can do to fix it DIY style? Does anyone know where I can find a replacement part if I can't rehabilitate it?

Thanks in advance for your help

you can get a replacement from an autozone. mine did that also a while back. just splice the wires then connect it to the new one.
