Is this another tailight thread or what.. lol
I think the 1997 tails are also ugly, but they seem to still be popular among alot of members on here. I do know the wiring is different. Go ahead and do the mod and post a DIY for the conversion. JMO.. GL

For lighting they use a stock 97 harness with some LED bulbs in the top, otherwise they are just like stock tails, maintenance free.

The brackets that hook up to the harness is what will make or break you, depending on the bulb size and pattern that go into the rear of the 97+ tails (which I haven't seen yet).
but in my DiY video you'll see the anatomy of 1992-1996 and the differences.

I would really like to know the same thing. I'm getting plenty sick of my 98 tails and have been itching to switch to 95-96 tails. If you ever figure it out, i'd really appreciate it. You could always just hide the extra sockets/bulbs that you're not using in the 92-94 tails.

IMO....custom 92-94 clear/red tails are the best tails for an SC hands down. 97+ is the bandwagon choice and they honestly do not flow with the overall lines of the back of the SC in any which way, shape, or form whereas the 92-94 and 95-96 flow perfectly with the lines of the back of the SC all day.
Now let me clear up this whole problem with 92-94 tailight harnesses working on a 97+ SC since that is what I have in my ride. If you have a 97+ SC and plug in a 92-94 tailight harness IT WILL WORK. Simply just plug and play and enjoy. There will be NO HYPERBLINK but unfortunately your faulty tailight indicator inside your dash will always light up when you turn on your lights for night time driving ONLY. During the daytime that light in your dash will not be on even if you make left or right hand turns using the signals.
Best thing to do is remove that bulb in your dash that way you don't have to worry about seeing it on all the time when driving at night.
Not sure why most of you guys with 92-94 tails don't just paint the top half of the tails red to match the bottom....looks sooo much more cleaner this way and OEM IMO.

I've actually got a set of 00, 95, and 93 taillights for my SC. As far as stock tails go, I like the 95's the best. The 93's look awesome if you paint them red or black and keep the reverse lights clear.
What I really want to do is get a set of modded 97's where the insides are painted gloss black and still keep the chrome trim. Unfortunately, I haven't found anyone to make me a set.
