93 SC300 5spd
whats up guys. i had my eyes on sc300's over 4 years ago but they were too expensive so i got a 2000 mustang gt instead. NOW that my stang is dead... i had to join club lexus since i just got my first sc300, original 5spd! YES!. price included drift/tuner tax :P paint is bad. interior is gross imo (tan). it came with bc coilovers, 350z wheels (all sunk in--nasty), a rep lip/sideskirt kit (meh--at least its painted to match though ), catback pipes (sounds so good!), rear fender roll/flare (im sure my 18x11 et10 wheels will fit nice back there ), and front fender roll (kinda nasty dimpling). its got 146k miles (supposedly), very clean body, no broken windows, no dashcracks, outside passenger door handle doesnt work. decklid doesnt stay open, smells old inside but its clean title and runs sweet!--way easier to drive than my mustang gt. power steering is crazy easy--felt like a toy. shifts like butter--so smooth. acceleration from a stop is weak. fixes/upgrades/mods planned: stage one: tune up, changing wheels/tires, painting/swapping or deleting interior. delete the window spoiler and add a decklid spoiler. stage two: LSD! stage three: progressive no2 or turbo. stage four: paint...or not... any and all suggestions, tips/tricks, advice, questions welcome. glad to be here. hope to hear from you guys soon.

Hey everybody, I'm a noob to CL, but not to quick japanese cars. Owned a '93 FD3S R1, '00 GC8 w/ STi swap, '04 MAZDASPEED MX-5. Currently own a '95 S14 SR20DET swapped 240SX SE and will be picking up a '92 SC400 stocker. Same owner owned it last 25 years in Cali ( =non-rust bucket ) and has done all services with receipts, garaged ( =maintained pearl white paint ). Picking her up on Friday, driving from Manhattan Beach to Beaufort, SC ( = 2500 mile road trip).

Just arrived with a 92 SC300
Hi Y'all
I just received a beautiful 1992 Lexus SC300 a few days ago. Original owner kept it stock...and all the original material (manuals, first aid kit, etc.) in mint condition. I had helped a friend buy it with less than 77 K miles (one owner) just 2 years ago - now I have it. Just happened...wasn't seeking it. Since this is the first Lexus I have had, I'll be watching this forum for all it's wisdom as I go through the car carefully and possibly upgrade or modify this 'n that.
Glad to be here 1992 Lexus SC300 Pass SIde 1992 Lexus SC300 Front 1992 Lexus SC300 Rear

Hello everyone
Few month ago I became a proud owner of the SC300 and very excited to be a member of prestigious Club. SC300 have been my childhood dream car, and now that I have it. I enjoy driving every single day. Also, I am surprised to see, continuous activity in 1st gen SC300/400 thread since our vehicle is reaching 20+ years. As a new member, I benefited so much already by reading existing articles on trunk strut replacement thread / How to replace cabin air filter / Repair tilt & telescoping steering wheel control.
I am in Hawaii, and i was lucky to find 2000 SC300 auto trans that ran just over 100k. The owner kept it clean and all stock. Before I purchased it, I took it to the trusted mechanic shop for pre-purchase inspection, and he found there was a minor oil leak, but he said it should not be a big deal, but a benefit to the car since it formed a nice undercoat for the vehicle lol
Eventually, I want to swap it out with Aristo 2JZ-GTE with auto trans. Since Supra set up for 2JZ-GTE 6 manual is too expensive.

New guy here from SW TX. New to SCs but not new to Toyotas by any means. More familiar with everything truck related in the rock crawling world, but just picked up a new DD to keep some miles off of my tow pig. The SC400 i just bought is pretty clean and i think i got a pretty good deal on it. It does need some work, but hopefully it isnt too much of a basket case. I guess thats the chance we take when buying stuff on craigslist. Anywho, onto some specs.
Specs:
'93 SC400 w/ 149k miles
COLD ac (a must when in TX)
auto shifts great
100% stock which is what i was looking for
Known issues:
Speedo no worky (odo works)
dead lights in the bottom left of the gauge cluster. (im guessing burnt out bulb)
Needles on tach and or speedo dont illuminate
Air bag light on
Warning indicator is on for a light out (not sure if its the running lights or what)
cracked front bumper cover
new battery drained itself overnight (cranked for 10 secs then went dead very fast and wouldnt start. Started up instantly the day before. Ill see if its the PCM, alternator, etc
Radio is completely dead (Stock radio with CD changer in trunk.
Oil seepage from the previous owner over tightening oil pan gasket
bald mismatched tires
Planned upgrades
New tires and probably new wheels. (looking for some IS350 takeoffs for now)
nice sounding exhaust. (not sure how its going to sound in the cab since 70mph is apparently 2600rpms
recover seats
fix all issues above
swap to 97+ tails
LEDs everywhere
New headunit
New coilovers to lower it an inch or two
replace the crappy factory tint
Intake?
A turbo would be fun down the road
Enjoy it.
A couple of pics.
Off to do some research to solve some of the issues i am having. If anyone in TX has a garnet bumper cover or know where to get one, PM me.

Introduction
Hey everyone! My name is Trever. I'm from the southwest Chicago area and I have a 92 black sc300 and since I check club Lexus constantly I thought I'd finally join in. Currently the car is low and slow on coilovers, which is still nice but hoping to do a swap eventually!
