Hi guys

I started my car up for the first 5 min and it was running fine, until i realize that my AFC was dead, then i put my AFC from my dash board to see why it dead and that when my car just die on me. i try turning the engine back on but it started to have a rough idle, can you please give me some help.

Check your IACV. Does you Idle Air Control Valve click 4 times when you shut the car off? Mine on my 1J went cactus and would idle very weird (too low/high rpm and rich) then stall out until I replaced it with another one.

 

I had a similar problem found out that the egr valve was fully clogged with carbon buildup. Removed the whole egr system and cleaned with carb cleaner. I had issues with rough idle and seeking between 1700rpms dropping all the way to 500rpms and sometimes dying. now only have slight idle issues when starting in temps below 30degrees.

 

Try cleaning your throttle body and run some Sea Foam into the intake manifold to clean out the carbon. EGR causes carbon build up in the intake manifold. EGR system has their bad and good.
