OK well since I have the covers off now it is without a doubt the old "marbles in a can" from the timing belt housing. I guess it's a bearing when it does that..... wonder which one...... There's a few pulleys in there.

LOL TURN YOUR FREAKING CAR OFF! I've never seen a timing belt that far gone and not shred completely.

Wait is the 1UZ interference?

Not much for me to complain about. Bought the car 9 years ago and have done nothing in the engine but change the oil. 250,000 miles on the OEM t-belt.

Accidentally took the tensioner off the bottom before setting the degrees or breaking the crank pulley loose, had to put it back on. Won't make that mistake twice! P.I.T.A............

Now just need to get a puller from auto store tomorrow.

Everything in there LOOKS good (as in nothing stands out that is making that noise, but there are cracks in the belt I knew have been there for YEARS). Anywho........... looks like I need to find the pulleys and whatever else I need to do the job.

Anyone have a parts list and best place to grab it all?

I should smack you man. Do you not see the piece of belt cord that is literally flapping around in your video? Lol

It's probably hitting on something.

The thing that looks like a frayed belt in the video is actually a "pointer" cast into the metal of the cam gear. I don't know what it's used for but I've run my 400 without any engine covers since I got it (going back on soon) so I'm familiar with it. I am no longer worried about my Tbelt that Lexus records show was replaced in 1999, about 90k miles ago! I'm gonna replace the radiator hoses and call it a day.

My bet is that the noise is a bearing but that of an idler pulley or other belt-related item, either of the T-belt or the accessory belt. It just doesn't have that heart-wrenching thunk that a spun engine bearing gives you. That noise is what led to the sale of my 400+ whp Legacy

I don't touch the 1UZ so I didn't know. Regardless, your belt is in bad shape from the pictures and needs to be changed.

That yellow line looks like a fray mark and if it's not it will be soon enough.

You didn't have any weeping from the pump or any symptoms? It looks like it causes some corrosion behind the covers.

There's corrosion everywhere, when you do this coolant comes from the thermostat housing, a nipple on the side, and about 4 other places and goes everywhere so it's been sitting there rusting for 30 hours.

I figured it would go everywhere but 30 hours? It looks like it's been corroding longer than that! lol

I can park your car in the rain and rotors be covered in rust in less than 5 hours.
