Default Steering wheel tilt help ASAP PLEASE!

I own a 93 Sc300 and my steering wheel tilt wont go up or down. I just came from the lexus dealership and they told me its a $2800 reapair!!! How is this possible? Has anyone had to deal with this problem before and what is my best option? Should i start looking on craigslist for a whole new steering assembly to replace mine or is there another route to take? Any and all help is very much appreciated..... this is truly ruining my day!

2800 lmfao they just didnt wanna touch your car. stealerships are insane. They told me they couldnt diagnose an engine problem because my suspension was too heavily modified and they would have to return it to stock LMFAO

I have the same problem with mine but I think it's the ecu that went bad. I can move the steering wheel up and down by pressing the button but it won't do it on it's own when inserting or removing the key.

@ unknown159 mine just started doing this as well......TTschmitta...can you explain further, did yours not go in/out and up/down and that fix, fixed everything ...or did only up/down not work and now it does?...thanks would like to fix my in/out as im short (5ft8) and would prefer my wheel be closer then the furthest setting away from me..Thanks

Same problem here, was an easy fix. If only there was a solution this easy for my seat not moving back and forth... Planning on ripping out the boat anchors and going lightweight.

Mine just wouldnt go
Up an down...but from my understanding the method
mentioned above works either
way. If not then it could be the
ECU i was told on Soarerworld.
Either way Just DONT GO TO
LEXUS! Lol. But if your motor is making noises when u try to move it, you shouldnt need a new one like i was told at Lexus.
