has anyone put cams on 1uz?
Has anyone tried camshafts in their 1uz?
I personally know i'll never buy anything like it for my car but has anyone else bought them and what were the performance gains?
Is the 1UZ like the LSX motors? where with a cam they gain like 40-50hp and a little more with a port and polish and a little more head work. and about +60hp total with a full exhaust... can't find anything on the 1uz where people try making them higher 200whp motors in the SC. i would be nice just to read up on it.

Check over on Lextreme.
I've never heard of any major gains with cams, that's why I didn't drop $1000 on a set when I built my motor. I may still at some point get some good springs though, something I should have done when I built the motor.

Oh I see, Cams will make a big gain but you must have the proper ems and tuning to take advantage of what they have to offer.

Video is a MKIV Supra 1UZ with ITB's, cams, and valvesprings.
People do put cams in 1UZ's, but the only ones that care enough are in Australia.
Most people in the US go with forced induction instead.

You are right.
Cams, that awesome twin intake manifold, and EMS.
Other then that it's the same $400,000,000 developed 1uz that anyone can get.
It's a V8, so cams, intake, and tune making 400whp shouldn't surprise anyone.
OP Yes, there are cam swaps on 1uz's, and yes it rocks if you absolutely want to go N/A.

I seriously doubt that cams, intake and EMS have gained this motor 200whp + or -, not to mention revving to 9300rpm.
