Default 1jzgte vvti MAF?

Does anyone have experience with changing a 1jz vvti to a Z32 MAF? I'm running a power fc and I can select it, but the problem is that the iat is built into the jz MAF. Do I need to install a separate iat or will it work without it? If I need to get a separate one, does anyone know which one will work with a power fc?

I am for now, but I'm about to switch to 550 cc injectors and top mount mani with a 5857e turbo. Im not sure what boost pressure I'm going to run. I just want to have everything upgraded before I get it tuned. Plus I have a z32 laying around, so I might asnwell use it.

Are you worried about over running the maf? I believe that maf which is the same as a 97 sc400 will support 500+ whp.

From what I've read, they're only good for around 300hp or 220kw. That's why there's the option in the power fc for the upgrades. I'm sure you an get a little more out of the chaser MAF with proper tuning, but I rather not push it past it's limits. I'm planning on running a safe 400-450hp range.

There is no way that maf is only good for that low of hp as that would mean it is over 80% maxed out from the factory which is for sure not the case.

I would venture to guess that maf will support your hp level goals with ease.

I believe Dexlex on here is making mid 400"s on his vvti 1jz with no issues.

Delex is not running a MAF. He switched over to a map setup. I wish I could switch too, but power fc doesn't support it . They don't make a D-jetro for the 1jz vvti. Ya, it doesn't make sence to me either, but everywhere I look jzx100 guys say that it maxes out at 220kw.

The Chaser and Soarer MAF sensor share the same part number, so I'd expect a Soarer 1JZ to pull the same figures as the Chaser 1JZ.

It's all here say but I've been recommended to get my hands on a 1UZ MAF sensor, apparently it allows for more flow but don't hold me on that.

It's the same part#^^ Maybe the ecu runs out of voltage reference but the maf is good for more I am 100% sure of this so look to the ecu scale for maf voltage and see if maybe the power fc allows for a frequency clamp of some sort.

Possibly. It'd be nice to check but no readily available JZX100 computers available.

Just doing some cross referencing for my own Soarer project (97 VVTi) and there's places that say the JZX100 (M/T) PowerFC D-Jetro is also compatible with a Soarer, not so sure how OEM computers would be easily switchable.

I thought they didn't make a D-jetro for the jzx100 vvti? Anyway, I think I'm good without the iat. I believe if I'm running a MAF it's not needed. It's only required if I was running map.

not sure if this will help you or not, but the 1jz VVTI MAF is the exact same toyota part # as the 95-96 LS400.

OE # is: 22250-50060

just use the OE one, dude. i don't think you're going to overrun it...

why do you think that if running a MAF that you dont need an IAT sensor??

Im not expert but im pretty sure you would need an IAT sensor as that decides how to timing your computer will add/pull based on the intake temperatures in order to keep your engine safe.

You TECHNICALLY could wire a resistor into your IAT sensor but i wont make any claims to how safe that would be
