I have a 94 SC300, the check engine light just came on, it was diagnosed as code 71, egr malfunctions. With all that I've read on CL, think I'll start with cleaning the egr pipe, hoses and valve with compressed air. The issue is, where is it? Can anyone help.

you could just remove it and install a resistor....wont throw a code at all.

 

Hello fellow cl member. I could use your expertise in finding an egr pipe for my sc 400. I have a 1997 engine. I have been running to Lexus dealers all over town. The egr pipe that I need is smaller than most SC's. Seems they have discontinued this pipe. I read the advice that you gave to scviolence about changing out the pipe with, I believe you said with some resistors. Do you think that would help my situation too? i had all my hoses replaced and it went away forever.... its a cheap fix and fixes that annoying CEL light.
