...oooooo didnt check the distributor timing though. Cant it be swiveled clockwise/counterclockwise as well? The only big engine work I have honestly done was building a D16 civic motor. This 2jz stuff is all new... but would that really affect my engine this much? My gas mileage is what has me thinking its a computer/sensor problem. I get about 5-8/10 mpg.

Dizzy was good, I was told by one of my friend's dads who owns an actual supra that the 92-96 generation sc300s are prone to crank position sensor failure? His explanation was:

"The CPS is just a sensor with wire winding inside that act a resistor. If yours (mine) has a short or is going out, as the engine heats up the metal expands winding to send low impedance and tell the ECM that the crank is arriving earlier or later that it really is. The engine in return will advance or retard the ignition timing just enough to allow the car to still be driven but have horrible effects on performance"

So the question is, will the car even run with a failing (not dead) CPS? Does all this seem to make any kind of sense?
This seems to fit all my problems too. Car runs

*Update*

Car is perfect now! Took it to the Lexus dealership and they said the distributor cap WAS bad :-( Replaced the cap, made sure timing was perfect and we are back on the road. Best part about it was I was in and out in less than an hour and spent less than $40! He didnt charge me labor because it was so fast and I had already changed all those other parts. Anyways... hope this helps someone else with the same issues as me :-D
