Default Question about order trunk shocks

I want to order shocks to replace the blown ones in my trunk. There are 2 different versions, one for cars with a spoiler and one without. My car originally had no spoiler but I added one one. Curious one which to order because I dont know of the difference is because the mounting points may be different or if its just stronger to account for the weight of the spoiler.

Any tips?

Whether you have a spoiler or not. Order the trunk shocks with the spoiler. They are stronger and will last longer. Mounting points are the same on both versions.

I replaced mine recently. I got the ones for cars with a spoiler, even though my car DOES NOT have a spoiler. The ones I bought are very powerful, my trunk springs open, and actually takes some effort to push it closed. I like it, compared to having propped it open with a golf club for the past few years!

Currently using a round wooden stick (like what is used in closets) but tomorrow hope to get new struts installed.

I got the ones labeled w/spoiler even though I do not have one as everyone has suggested.

Where are you guys ordering your shocks from and what's the price range? I went to autozone but I think it was like 22 bucks for one

I would go with the one that supports the weight of the spoiler. I accidentally messed up on the order and only received one strut instead of two. I replaced the one strut and it holds up the trunk just fine with the spoiler on it. =]

same here my friend. I'm going to replace mine soon. I've heard that it takes 1 hour to replace one, and 5 seconds to replace the other.

I got mine from this guy, who has a small office/warehouse close to where I live.

My friend was able to remove the first old support without using any heat, just some muscle. After that, he removed the second one really quickly.

Now my trunk pops open nicely. I got the supports for cars WITH spoilers, even though my car has NO spoiler. They are very strong!

Installed.... took a while (not by me....). The ones I got were the "with spoiler" even though the car does not have one.
