there are lots of sensors that u must disconnnect to remove the intake manifold go over your work step by step most of the ones you disconnect are around the IACV

Find what you didn't plug back up.... and plug it back up.

As a last resort, the MAF can be bad and when you disconnect the battery and clear the ECU you may figure out you have a bad MAF when the ECU tries to read base settings for the first time from the sensor instead of from the ECU cache.

ive gone over it a few times and everything is plugged in so im not sure hmm

i thought maybe the MAF might be bad but then again it was working before and i thought a car would still run without it even hooked up?

im running out of options i have a rental car right now to drive to work because i cant figure out whats wrong with it..... i might be forced to taking it to a auto shop

take some carb cleaner and spray it all over the engine bay till you hear the idle change once it does just narrow the sprayed area down till you see whats wrong if i had to guess i would say your grommets or throttle body gasket

the car wont start to see if there is a check engine light on

a vacuum hose thats cracked or broken shouldnt keep the car from running it would just change how it runs

everything is hooked up right i even took it all apart again and put it back together with all new gaskets

ill take the idle control valve out and clean it but if that doesnt work its getting towed to a shop im over it

Im glad 98-00 intake manifold its alot easier to take off & less vacuum lines. But thats what is sounds like to me. Cause of the high idle, then nothing.

Thats not true about the check engine light. The car doesn't have to start. Turn the ignition on and the check light should go out while all your other lights are on. If it stays on there will be a code stored. Scan it regardless.
