Default HELP with coolant leak

Went out to my car this morning and seen a coolant leak under my hood. Looks like it either sprayed out the rad cap or the valve with an H on it, I think out the front container as well. There is still fluid in the radiator but the plastic jug in front of the radiator is pretty much empty. Car seemed to run fine last night, drove it 20 miles from work and parked it, haven't seen this before. Is it safe to just put water in it for now?? Not affluent in fixing cars... Any help troubleshooting would be appreciated.

First thing i would try (and the least expensive) is replacing your radiator cap. Alot of the times the spring and/or seal wears out and cause fluid to spew as such.
