i just bought a 93 sc300 yesterday (still uninsured/registered sadly) and on the drive home i noticed the suspension is really stiff. stiffer than any car ive ridden in and thats including cars on coils and sport dampers/springs. every bump in the road was jarring. i figured since it was a luxery car and weighed 3500lbs it would drive like a boat. the guy i bought it from swears its stock. the car is sitting at my dads house until i get it insured so i cant look at it right now. is this normal? i tried the search function but idk what it is search engines never work for me, i swear im the only person who cant find what they need on google...
MY SC400 doesn't drive like a boat, but it is definitely softer than other sports cars. I've never driven a car with springs/coils/struts so I couldn't tell you, but it doesn't sound right.
I wish my SC was a little stiffer to take out some of the body lean in corners. For everyday driving around town, I can't complain at all...
mine is the same way.i think it needs a major suspension overhaul. at first it was terrible and a lot of it was the front tires after replacing them it was much smoother and quieter. though it still does not feel right. so suspension is the next big project for me.
well as long as its drivable till i can afford some coils ill be happy. either way i still love my sc. btw how hard would it be to replace the lights in my gauge cluster? the temp and gas gauge needles dont light up anymore and its damn near impossible to see.
Your struts are probably busted assuming it's stock, save up for coils. It's not that hard to replace those lights.. mine needle is the same way with yours atm..except previous owner painted them so even if i replaced the lights i still wouldn't be able to see.. :/

in the comments he said that wont fix the needles, its the neon in the needles. so its an expensive fix. but i do need new bulbs also since they're dull and patchy i guess would be the word. thanks for the video though.
