The wood trim in my car is limited to the strip on the doors and across the center of the dash.
Is there a trim option for the SC300 that has more wood in it? Like the steering wheel, center console, etc? I'm wondering if there's a factory match if I wanted to add more wood to replace the black plastic pieces.
there are lots of wood grain kits available for the sc from various companies. i have one in my car - it doesnt match perfectly and its too shiny but still looks decent. none of the ones ive seen have been a perfect match, they are generally too bright and shiny. you can find some on ebay if you type in "lexus kit" youll come across some, or if you just search on google youll find some too. alkaplus.com sells them and i believe they have an option of brushed aluminum as well.
So basically you're saying that my only option is to cover my existing black trim with that fake plastic wood stuff? There isn't some kind of OEM replacement for the black plastic console pieces?
I just didn't know if Lexus ever made any such thing for the SC or not.
yep, thats it, or brushed aluminum. lexus never had any option for more wood trim in the car. the 97-00 models had some oem wood around the stick shift and ash tray as standard, everything made before that only had the wood around the door sills and above the console/glove box.
Wood wheel is very possible - I love mine - check this out: http://american-stitches.com/

As for the center console - you are screwed. As stated before, stick on wood is the only stuff available. There is one company here in LA, Cal. that can do it, but it would be custom and cost big time. See link below. I am going to talk to them about refinishing my wood pieces and will also ask about a custom console, but I expect it would just cost too much.
Just my personal taste. I like the wood. I was thinking of doing as much of the interior trim in wood as possible and then getting two-tone replacement leather seats with a brown matching the wood as the dominant color, with OEM tan inserts.
Would the shifter console/ashtray wood from the 97-00 model fit on mine? It's a 5-speed.
