Hate to do this, roughly how much is my car?
. A straight trade might be your best best. You've got a clean SC so I'm sure you could find someone to trade.

You're in Cali where SC's are a dime a dozen. Around here, they are few and far between and usually sell for more. There have been 2 97's sell in the last year here, one being a black on black with 120K miles. It sold after 6 months for $5300. The other was a white on tan with 9XK miles and it sold for $4500.
Having said that, the 5-sp swap is worth nothing to the casual driver. It would only command a premium to an enthusiast and those are the ones looking for a deal. Really, if it was my car, I would be happy with $5500 but I would expect to sit on it for awhile to get that. At the same time, you're going to have a hard time getting $7K in parts for it. It's a lot of hard work to part it and for not that much of a gain.

This is exactly why I don't understand people modifying a car they are not sure about keeping in the long run; you never get any type of return out of all the money spent on mods and maintenance.

Not sure about that, main selling points are the blk interior and 5spd conversion other then a few mods its nothing special...8-9+ if it was properly boosted then yeah.
