Yeah, that's a good point. Realistically it might be around $7,000, possibly less. These cars sure have dropped in value a ton since I got mine two years ago.

I was hoping for the 7kish range. If not i can just part out my car and sell stock 97 5spd blk/blk for 5k at least.

Or if some lucky gs4 wants to trade for a sc
A straight trade might be your best best. You've got a clean SC so I'm sure you could find someone to trade.

You're in Cali where SC's are a dime a dozen. Around here, they are few and far between and usually sell for more. There have been 2 97's sell in the last year here, one being a black on black with 120K miles. It sold after 6 months for $5300. The other was a white on tan with 9XK miles and it sold for $4500.

Having said that, the 5-sp swap is worth nothing to the casual driver. It would only command a premium to an enthusiast and those are the ones looking for a deal. Really, if it was my car, I would be happy with $5500 but I would expect to sit on it for awhile to get that. At the same time, you're going to have a hard time getting $7K in parts for it. It's a lot of hard work to part it and for not that much of a gain.

This is exactly why I don't understand people modifying a car they are not sure about keeping in the long run; you never get any type of return out of all the money spent on mods and maintenance.

^ Truth.

It seems that the 2GS is dime a dozen Stateside as well and going for cheap. Maybe add it to the collection? I did just that lol
