Sc vs. 2nd gen gs300?

How does an sc300 compare to a 98-05 gs300 in terms of performance? And how about the sc400? I know the sc400's HP numbers changed throughout its production but basically I'm just wondering how the Sc's stack up against the 2GS performance wise.

I got a '03 GS430 and power-wise it blows my SC out of the water. It is also a bit roomier, much more comfortable, and refined in many ways.

If you are ONLY looking at a GS300 then that's a different story because for as big as the GS is... I feel the 300 engine is way underpowered (just like in the stock SC300).

From personal experience: SC300 Auto is faster than a GS300 on a straight line. As for SC400 vs GS400, then I dont know.

@97-SC300 thanks for the response.. but yeah this is just to compare the gs300 because I've driven a gs300 and I feel like its got a little bit of power(compared to a 00' es300). But how would a stock sc400 compare?

sc400 non vvti 250hp and the gs300 vvti is about 230 hp i belive...in the straight line they would be close but the sc400 is def faster. Overall i would buy a gs over sc anyday.

Not even close. My auto 300 burns stock GS300s so it wouldn't hang with the 400.
I guess torque doesn't win this race.
98+ GS300: 228 hp /225tq
pre 98 SC300 :225 hp /210 TQ

Buy a SC400 or GS400 if you don't want to boost a 300
GS400 is much more refined compared to SC and you do get some new goodies with the GS4xx, Such as Xenons, One touch power windows, Dual Zone Climate Control.

i had 99 SC400 and currently have 98 GS400, since they both have same drivetrain however, GS400 feels much quicker, gets better gas mileage.

Even in straight line your SC is not faster than 98-05 GS300

trust me my friend.

If you are not gonna boost it don't buy 300 they are slow as hell.

Yeah my stock GS is sooo slow. I miss my boosted GS so bad. My freakin X5 would rape my stock GS.

The GS400 and 98+ SC400 are pretty quick compared to the SC300 or GS300. The GS400 supposedly has 300 horsepower compared to the GS300 and SC300's 225 horsepower.

Go with a 98+SC400 or the GS400/GS430.

Both 300s are slow regardless of VVTi. The GS is roomy and plush, the SC is less roomy. Im a fan of just buying both.

My 91 Soarer V8 Limited is quicker than my 01 GS300, it is also more equipped compared to my GS (exc. xenon headlamps, dual zone A/C and sunroof). Can't wait to boost my GS3!
