I've searched, and wasn't able to find anything...sooooo...........
I've got a 1992 SC400 that was converted to R134a some years ago. However, now my compressor has recently taken a crap.
Since my 1992 was originally R12, do I need to find a 92-93 compressor?
Will the 1994+ compressor fit my 1992?
Thanks!!

nope...most if not all the reman/new compressors are using the PAG R134a oils now. so if you get a replacement compressor for your 92 it's ready to go for R134a....unless you get an used one off a junk/parts car.
R12 Original Compressors and R134A Original Compressors use different lines to the compressor at the end.
Do me a favor and post a picture of what you have now - you can always swap the hat/head whatever it's called but it just introduces more chance for issues.

TechGeek is right. If you get a later model compressor you will have to switch out the top plate where the compressor lines fit. Its not hard, but you increase the chances of leaks. Just make sure the gasket is good and the fit is flush. I did it 1 1/2 months ago and mine is blowing cold with no leaks. Basically the newer compressors don't have the low side charging port on the front of the compressor, and the lines from your car won't quite match up. So you swap your top plate from the old compressor to the new compressor to keep your low side charging port on the front of the compressor.

Check your PM.. Please send me a picture of your current compressor to marklinley36@gmail.com or post on here. Want to double check of what I have.. I dont know if its been converted over to 134A or not. Still maybe R12! It does work regardless. Just want to double check. Thanks!
