2jz?
Ok guys im kinda a noob here. i know there are a couple different types of 2jzs. some come from supras, aristo, altezza. now what i want to know is what is the difference. all i know that they have a different oil sump pan. can someone explain to me in detail the difference? i want to do a 2jz swap in my 92 lexus sc300 but have been hearing from a couple of ppl that i cant just put any 2jz in. help please.

Your car already has a 2jz in it. It is however the 2jz-GE. It's the NA version. If your swapping you want the 2jz-gte. This is the lil bad boy that's in the supra tt. The differences between the GE and the gte is compression and the gte has extra oil sprayers to keep things cool. From what I understand if you are aiming at less than 700 hp it's not a bad idea to keep the GE. Search for NA-T. It's pretty impressive what you can get out o the GE

To OP: Some sumps are different, that why you keep yours from your 2jzge and bolt it on. Some plugs and ecus are different across the different cars. You're going to need a re-wire anyway since the wires won't reach where the ECU sits. When in doubt...search button
