Default 1JZ Knock Sensor Extension

So as the time draws closer to doing my 1J swap, I have been doing more research than I probably did my entire 4 years in college. I have read many occasions of people extending the knock sensors with USB cables because they are shielded. I recently had a thought...what about using a decent quality Video RCA cable. It's a single channel shielded wire.

I used to work at a car audio shop and still have connections to get materials cheap. I was wondering what some of the experts think about this idea.

And before it's mentioned, yes I have looked into the Autosport wiring patch harness and that is not totally ruled out.

Hahaha, I did a lot more reading at SF and found that a lot of people used USB cables with no issues. I'll figure out more when the time comes. Looking forward to getting my motor in less than a month!

If the gauge is the same that would be fine.

I use the knock sensor wiring from your GE harness when I extend the harness.

USB wiring is a terrible idea because of how thin the wire is.

Do no forget the cam and crank sensor wire is shielding and needs to be extended using shielded wiring.

^^

So the following wires are shielded: cam sensor, crank sensor, knock sensor? Is that a total of 6 wires? This is good to know. I want to make sure that I've got all of my information ready prior to diving into this. I thought about pulling the knock sensors from the GE harness as well. How tough and time consuming is that?

the issue that I have with that is that my car is my daily driver and I want as little downtime as possible.

non vvti has 2 cam sensors, vvti only have 1.

cam and crank sensors each have two wires inside them.

There is a store in Costa Mesa called MarVac that I buy my shielded wire from.

I have a bunch of extra knock sensor wire that I could give you for free if you were in the area.
