Price on New Calipers???
Hi
Anyone know how much Lexus is charing for new calipers (all 4 of them) for the SC3?? My calipers look kind of bad from aging and I want to buy new set and paint them in red
any idea?
Thanks!

For one rear was somewhere between $240-$275 the front is a little cheaper, but the Supra TT brakes are i believe 175 for the rear and i forget the price for the front..... just if ur interested

sphereman,
If your calipers work, then you are wasting money buying new ones. They rarely go bad unless you wear your pads down to the metal and wreck the caliper itself.
What I did was bought a couple cans of Brakleen brake cleaner spray. Took the caliper off the mounts (left the brake lines on so that I didn't have to bleed and refill). Then simply wash down the calipers. It took almost both cans to spray...scrub with a plastic bristle brush and water....spray down residue.
For the paint, you do not need that expensive "brake rotor paint" . All you need is any high-temp spray paint. I choose some nice silver. Put on 3 coats...1hr apart.
I did both fronts first and then both rears.

Just replaced all four calipers on my 350,000 mile SC4.
NAPA (www.napaauto.com, I think) had the best price, but couldn't get one of the rear ones, so I had to go Lexus for those.
the fronts are same as Supra
