The car is extremely difficult to drive, power steering is definitely malfunctioning. I've been told it may be the pump or sensor. What do you guys think?

 

It would be helpful for anyone reading this for you to describe the problem more completely aka "what's wrong" or "what it does" beyond difficult to drive.

Does it make noise? Does it cut in and out?

 

Very common issue with the sc's. The pumps dont last. Search the issue. There are many threads about this.

 

steering rack filter for me search it up, at times it would be hard to steer and on hot days it would work.

 

having my replace this week the pump that is and the seals used for it

its leaking directly from the pump. i plan on replacing all parts so when mines starting that whining noise and sniffing of the steering column

my mechanic showed me the leak with the blue light which was coming directly from the pump

thank god it wasnt the pressure line that **** is expensive!!!!

 

Mine was loosing PS fluid and had white smoke on start up. I did the "OLT" plug the sensor and vacuum lines thing and it fixed the problem. There's a DIY for it look it up it might help you.
