LS400 lines, Rotors? Can GS stock lines be reused?

Thanks!
LS400 Calipers: 95+ (prior to 95 they were a 2 piston caliper like stock SC)
SCX00 lines can be retained, no need to upgrade.

Will need to use LS400 rotors & pads

I got ls4 brakes on my sc400. Had tt brakes on my last 2 sc300's. I will never use tt's again over ls4's, ls4's are 9 pounds a piece! tt's are much heavier. Just the ls4 upgrade is good for weight reduction also, and the stopping power is awesome!!! Aftermarket brakes will cost easilly over a grand or even a few grands so it's up to you depending on what type of racecar you have in mind. IMO, if your car is a daily driver and you want a little more juice to it, and slight mods here and there, there's no need for aftermarket big brakes. But if it's more of a psychological thing for you to be satified with having the best aftermarket performance parts available even if you don't use it up to that limit, go for it. You'll be down a lot of money that you can use for other parts.

Question: do the LS 400 calipers bolt up without any mods to the SC OEM setup? I got a pair of LS400 calipers today and will be ordering my rotors shortly. Thanks.

You may need to dremel off a few mm of caliper on one side depending on the year of your car. only takes like a minute. You will also need either LS caliper bolts or some washers, as the SC bolts are too long. Also you need to remove or cut the dust shield.

Used the sc300 stock bolts for my swap 2 nights ago... it was either the error of using those, or not tightening them enough... But the bolt backed out and the caliper jammed against my rim, cutting about 1/16" gash the circumference of the wheel and stopping my car altogether.

Did you put washers on when using the SC bolts? That must have been a fun experience

Wow you're lucky the wheel didn't break and fall off while driving down the highway or something. Maybe that's a little extreme lol.

they will mount up just fine. As mentioned above make sure to use spacers or the LS400 caliper bolts as they are shorter.

Luckily it was at relatively low speed (like 20 mph), and on a city street.. The damnedist thing: Got out of my car to search for bolts/counterweights and not even 10ft from my car a fortune from a fortune cookie read, "Be calm in an upcoming emergency crisis".

Default LS400 caliper interchangeable with Supra TT rotors?

Question: does anyone know if the TT Supra front rotors will work with the LS400 calipers? Are they the same diameter? The reason I'm asking is that the OEM rotors for the LS400 are ~$320 a pair, while the Supra TT rotors are only $190 a pair from Elmhurst Toyota. I'd like to save myself some bucks but still get the real Toyota rotors and not some cheap knockoffs. And even the high quality alternate vendor rotors like Beck-Arnley are roughly $160 a pair, so might as well get the real deal.

Question 2: instead of cutting my dust shields, can I just replace them with Supra TT or LS400 shields?

Thanks.
