Dsitributor o-ring!
I have determined this is the LAST leak on the car. I chased down an o-ring at a dealership and I was just wondering if there were any tips on playing with the timing. I was just planning to mark EVERYTHING as I would on any other car. Aside from making sure it goes back together EXACTLY the same way it came off, is there anything I need to watch out for? On a side note, can I adjust the timing on this car? I was wanting to advance it a few degrees but it looks like it's not adjustable... Thanks in advance!

I read that (haha, I had found it JUST after I posted) but I just wanted to be sure it covered all details. And my question still stands, is there any way to adjust timing? Thank you for the quick response though!

timing can be adjusted, the bolt hole on the distributor is elongated for such a task. I would only screw around with timing ONLY if you have access to a decent timing light. Specs. call for 10 deg before top dead center (BTDC) give or take 2 degrees. Unless you have a timing light handy, i would just make some match marks on the head and the distributor and just keep it at that. Too far retarded and you'll have no power. Too far advanced and, well, lets just say you'll have more than an o-ring to worry about.

When I did the o-ring on my 95 sc300 I just marked the gear and made sure that lined back up with the intent of checking the timing. I used my timing light and set the timing afterwards, trying to keep everything lined up 100% is asking too much I think. Plus, who knows if the timing is correct to begin with, I say go ahead and plan to adjust the timing afterwards. May be a good time to invest in a quality timing light since the part is so cheap for this fix .
As for the o-ring, mine was hard plastic and broke in half when I tried to remove it. I spent some time with degreaser and contact cleaner really cleaning up the distributer while it was out. It was a mess underneath where all the oil was leaking.

I appreciate the advice. I already have a good timing light. I'm only new to imports, I promise haha. With a stock car, driving at ~5500 feet with 91 octane, how many degrees would be acceptable on this car? I want to push it forward a little, that's just power lying on the table, but I don't want to advance it as far as possible. Thanks!
