im thinking about doing my 94 sc400 timing belt replacement, but i was wondering how hard it really is, i keep reading different things but i wanted someones opinion whos actually done it before. I have alot of tools and have a shop to work in and have a couple years of mechanical experience but ive only done 1 timing belt so im just wondering how hard would it be to do myself? any feedback will help, thanks

oh ya i saw that already but i wanted feedback from somebody on here thats actually done it to see if its really that extensive

Yes, it's that involved. The only really hard part for me was removing the crank bolt that was really stuck, but it was a lot of work. I used that write up and it was right on. It took two days of work to get it done.

I did it as I replaced the water pump.
It's a task so be paced and don't get too discouraged.

+1 on the crank pulley bolt. It's a ***** taking that off

Its time consuming but not bad.
Knock the crank bolt loose first with the starter method once you clear enough things out of the way.
Other than that its a timing belt as normal, remove this to get to that etc.

so i cant get the crank bolt off with a impact gun?

^ No sir unless you use 400ft lbs of TQ air impact lol,for me the crank bolt is not the issue it the crank pulley and the and the gear that is PITA to remove when you wanna replace the crank seal.
