What to do with this spare 1UZ
So I've had a 118k 1UZ for several months that needs a water pump, and was going to change the timing belt as well. I've been trying to sell it locally for about $250 forever along with my IMF headers and a few 240SX guys were interested and a few people on here responded to my ad but it's local pickup. Anywho, I've been wanting to 1JZ my SC400 when my current motor starts going south and I'm wondering if I'd make more money parting the engine out, or just waiting until I found a buyer.
The reason I'm asking now is I'm getting $500 in a couple weeks from my taxes and that'd take a big chunk out of a 1JZ with ECU/wiring, but I'd still have to move the 1UZ off my engine stand to make room, and to add a few bucks to the cause. I know the little things would add up on a 1JZ swap, such as the water pump swap to a 2JZ unit, belts/hoses/timing belt, and other various things but the allure of a twin turbo inline 6 is pretty strong. And since I'm an old school Datsun Z guy, the inline 6 is kinda my thing.
