some spray paint that was mixed up at a local shop. when I worked for an audio shop we used to get paint from them all the time to match interior colors.

It should if your Soarer has the same style factory radio as the SC400 and SC300. Yours isn't the one with the touch screen and GPS built in, is it?

you seem to know your stuff then, because i haven't bought an alpine unit in years man..

what unit and model would you recommend for an alternative to the Alpine W407 ???

keep in mind i'm totally cool with going CDless. happy to ONLY use my iPod.
Relapser,

Just wanted to get back in here and apologize to you. I'm 24 and believe me I'm not trying to be rude or anything in here. Just stating my opinions on here just like everyone else. I have a sense of humor too just didn't catch it from you at the time.....my bad.

(We now return you to your regularly scheduled program)....haha.

KiraX - good god no. Haha I don't like them.

The Japanese owner kept his stereo head unit.. Left me with all amps speakers n subs n just left me with a hole.. Haha been that way for months

I'm more concerned about the left hand / right hand drive aspect

But for how cheap they are it's a cheap experiment

PRS22 - don't worry man.. No need to stress I still love you bro.. Friday mustve been a tough day everyone was fighting, haha

Don't worry though I've had worse things said to me

I'm sure my future ex wife wil say worse things too

Don't worry be happy

Did you have issues with your cup holder when pushing it in, pressing any of the buttons on this deck?
My problem is all the damn decks have stupid volume ***** that are in the way of the cup holder (only applies to RHD ofcourse). and the decks that are solely touch or have a couple buttons on bottom usually all come motorized and or stick out slightly and will never be 100% flush.

I've been really thinking hard about options for that setup.

my requirements are:
1) Android OS.
Google Maps, android apps, there's even an app to replace a stock din, you don't even have to have an antennae, this app streams all your local stations.

2) enough storage to contain some video, and a good chunk of mp3s. (this is also the biggest drawback I'm coming up with, most ready built tabs that run android don't support external storage, and internal storage [microSD] is limited to 32GBs.)

3) some kind of data connection, like 3g, to run google maps, etc...

I was thinking the Samsung Galaxy Tab might work pretty well, except the storage issue...
any thoughts?

ive thought about memory also, 32gb would prob be plenty for most on a sd card as the need to carry music and media is decreasing since you can stream something on your phone. also i dont have first hand experience with this but i know theres a program that allows it. you could use your phones data, and tether its connection to the tablet, and then use the program to hook into your computer at home and play any media you have from your computer on your tablet. eliminating the need to store things on the tablet. that of course depends on your data coverage area and plan on your phone.

i thought long and hard about going galaxy tab mounted in car - thought better of it because for me personally?

at the end of the day - i don't use GPS that often. i know where i'm going because i'm not a complete stupid head.

and i don't need to update my facebook wihle on the road...

...for me, all i care about is music .. and audio quality.

while the galaxy tab would be a great HiDef screen and great for movies and GPS etc...

the truth is - audio wise... i need a better sound quality than what a 3.5mm stereo jack can offer.
you may say "BUT ROWAN DERP YOU CAN STILL MAKE IT SOUND GOOD"

but - some MP3s come in 328 bitrate format, some are in 92 bitrate format. or lower or higher...

...some Mp3 are quiet... some are loud which rattle bass / treble peaks...

so for this - i need a PROPER head unit that will use proper software to combat this..

YES i know the Galaxy tab can do it all if you're REALLY clever - but, i just cannot be bothered with it, sorry!!!

Pretty sure I will go the Pioneer route. Either the 130 or 930. Looking at your photo above for the 130, does the Power/Volume **** function after putting one of these in? (sorry for the newbie question but I have always survived with the OEM units so far).
