Was looking at some pics of a couple of new Mercedes (SLK and Gullwing) and both had red interiors. So it got me to thinking how my 400 would look. Did some quick Photoshop work. Hmmmm....
its nice not feeln the two tone and on the rear side panel where a small persons arm would rest it cant be half red n black cuz its on piece and has no lines so it would only be one color
1) Keep the center armrest black <-- too much contrast
2) Keep the door arm rests black <- this would keep a single red strip around the doors and dash. The red armrests is too much contrast. Keep it black.
3) Change the wood trim <- I'd recommend darkwood or piano black (check my thread). The silver adds too many colors
PS. I caught the red lettering on the floor mats. Very subtle but it works.
some quick shots. Still need to install my black dash and center consol. The red is sem portola red. The black is oem black. Seats are perforated with red double stitching. The armrests and center consol, headliner and visors are black suede with red double stitching where applicable. Pics are from my phone...
Shern, checked out your interior pics. Very nice. I like the piano black. And your seats look brand new. Not sure if I like the two-tone look, but it's something I'm playing around with.
