You pull MORE vacuum at idle with cams? That's interesting...

Which catch cans come baffled? A quick google search yields no results of baffled cans, only unbaffled cans such as the Greddy etc. Do you have a pic your catch can setup lexforlife? Btw, I met you when I was in Miami with moosejaw aka Andew. You have a nice SC for sure.

Can you splain that some more? I am lost. How are you pulling vac on the catch can side if it has a breather open to atmosphere?

hard to explain put has to do with the speed of the air being pulled by intake side of turbo and how much actually gets vented .. ill see if i can find the article online from the drag racing world that lead me to this design.. even my tuner liked it alot and saw engine was more responsive since doing it

Most cam upgrades result in less Vacuum at idle per boost gauge, however this was on a totally different motor. Stock cams pulled around 15-17 vacuum, with cams it was more 10-11.

Nice! I am so jealous of you guys who are local to Alpha. He gets numbers from the 2JZ that very few can match.

I ran my setup without one, and ended up blowing out my front rear and cam seals. a simple $20, yes $20 setup fixxed that. Now I'm about to put my whole setup back in after I have pulled the motor, cleaned and replaced all the seals, etc.

Just do the catch can, it's worth it.

I pull 19-20in at idle with stock cams just FYI. Most aftermarket cams pull less due to overlap obviously, but I wonder if having no PCV through the intake has anything to do with the higher vacuum numbers. Since PCV is a controlled vacuum leak, maybe having no accommodation for it leads to more vacuum? Oh, and degreeing the cams can get rid of the overlap and bring vacuum numbers right back up as well.
