Hi everybody,
My 92 Sc400 underhood insulation has been deteriorating for a while now and my engine bay keeps getting dirty with the fiberglass material it's shedding. Does anyone know of a quality aftermarket replacement. The dealer here in NY says that part's on back order.
Does the insulation have to be there or can I drive with it off ?

 

I would remove it and replace it with the DEI universal thermal barrier, or gold film thermal barrier.

It wont hurt to not have it there for a short while. But over time, it will cause some issues with the paint on the exterior surface.
