i assume your sc doesnt have the factory alarm system?
if so how do u deal with it without the unlock on the key?
Not sure, I just open the door manually each day on the driver side and start the ignition. One time I was at a 7-11 near the beach and I left the windows down. I guess I locked the door and when I came out, I decided to open the door from the inside door handle...the alarm went off so I'm assuming the factory security system still works. The "Red" Security light turns on when I lock my door from the inside door lock and shut the door. I've been meaning to get an aftermarket alarm for a while now, but my car is basically stock and my wheels have been in storage for months.
does anyone know if the dealership with sell the piece of rubber in the key that presses the button? lol stupid question but ya... otherwise im looking at just buying someone elses key to use for parts i guess

I was just gonna start looking at the old wrecked LS'd at the junk yards and hope one of them had a key in it for that very reason.

I needed a new spring and they guy at the dealer in Orlando gave me an extra key they had laying around so I could use it for parts.
im not the type of guy that speaks about other people but ive looked into this "aliga" member and it seems as though his reputation on selling and trading is impecible.
i have had no reason to deal with him as of yet but when i do need something he will be the first person i go to
his trader score if through the roof and it seems that most if not all of his clients have been at least somewhat satisfied
i only mention this because i like to see proper business being done and its things like this that helps the "community" on the whole
Hey guys I did some re-search and found out that with the 1993 sc300/400 the screw that holds the remotes battery cover will NOT stay in. Lexus admits this as a "defect" on the car. Its annoying because my battery never stays in my key and I cannot unlock/lock my car cause the caseing around it keeps comming open! has anyone gone to the dealership before to try to get them to give you a new caseing or possibly a new screw that will actually hold the key together? has anyone else had this problem on there 1993 sc?
Devor,
I was just posting a spare key in the pay it forward thread that I had which you might be able to use to repair your key.
I started looking for this thread as soon as I was done with the post.
