I’m resurrecting this thread 11 years later. Still have the car and it’s been through a lot of changes. I managed to get all the original pics of my old computer. I will be updating. Mods can this be moved to build threads?
November of 2015 I installed the R154 with JZ R154 flywheel, bellhousing, Southbend feramic clutch disc, stock pressure plate, Marlin Crawler Vss adapter, and OEM shifter retainer and rod for early style Soarer.
April 2016 I was able to source front upper and rear upper control arm bushing through a guy named Peter Taplin from Australia. I think I learned of him through Soarercentral. These were similar to the Andrew Vlamos OE rubber bushings from 10+ years ago but higher quality according to Peter.
Sept 2018. I decided to redo my intercooler/intake piping on the hot side. I was never a fan of the hot air intake design I setup when I initially installed the engine. I sourced a JZZ30 airbox from Japan which would would allow me to run a stock Toyota filter and pull in cold air from the outside as well as run the intercooler piping through the pass fender OE Supra/Soarer style.
^^ You're making me consider getting a Soarer JZZ30 OEM air box as well. I have an OEM MKIV TT airbox but it has a difference at least up top where an additional air duct is meant to go over a factory Denso radiator... but which won't fit with my Koyo aluminum radiator. And it is not compatible with the stock placement of the SC's cruise control unit (since both the JDM Soarer JZZ30, JDM Supra MKIV TT and USDM/UK/Export Supra MKIV TT all have their factory cruise control units located closer to the firewall... the Soarer's in the area where the USDM ABS pump and lines are located). Otherwise it fits perfectly in the SC chassis.
Now you have me wondering if picking up one of these Soarer airboxes might be a good idea for my stock twins car.
I kind of mitigated the hot air intake issue with a modified MVP Motorsports "Max Air" isolator shield meant for MKIVs but I am sure the factory airbox is still more ideal overall to pull in colder outside air.
Then again I think there might be additional snag since the USDM/UK/Export 2JZ-GTE MAF unit does bolt into the factory airbox that it was sold with whereas other Toyota JZ factory airboxes seem to have just a round tube that a different style MAF unit gets clamped to with a rubber or silicone tube.
Come to think of it... looking at your pictures above are you even running a Toyota MAF and stock ECU on your setup?

It looks great btw!!! Very clean and stealth!
Thanks. It's a JDM engine so no MAF. I was running 440cc injectors with a stock Aristo ECU for a while, then a Mines ECU, now I'm on a AP Engineering A'pexi Power FC. We managed to make 382whp and 398 tq. between 18 - 20 psi on a dynapack but the injectors were at 100% duty cycle. I've since wired in an Acura Legend resistor box and OEM US Supra low impedence 550CC injectors for a little more headroom. I'm also running an HKS EVC 6 with the twins setup the "HKS way" raising boost on number one turbo as well as second. I'm actually going back to touch up the tune with the 550s on 9/28 even though it runs fine as is. You can just rescale the whole injector map with the FC commander when installing larger injectors. I also replaced a somewhat collapsed intake hose on the stock twin piping and installed a new EGCV vsv and IACV vsv. I'm hoping that has to be worth something. I'm on a stock Toyota air filter in the Soarer box too with stock snorkel under headlight. I haven't updated this thread with all that info but I will.
Great power band! I have to say I love my stock twins more than I ever thought I would. I'm so tempted to turn the boost up, however, being JDM turbos I want to make them last as long as possible until I build up the funds to go with a nice modern single. Very cool build man!

Are you still sequential? If so, I recommend trying an EVC to up the boost on number one turbo.
I'm still sequential and have come to really enjoy it. I thought about setting them up in parallel, but having the broad power band and building boost down low is so nice cruising in higher gears. Plus, they're just fun! I appreciate the input. I'll probably keep them at stock boost levels for now since the car made awesome power and I'm uncertain as to whether or not my turbos are ceramic or steel (I've got an aristo VVTI motor and have heard both are possible) and don't want to risk toasting a turbo until I'm ready to nut up and upgrade.
May 2021. Ten years after owning the car I finally put an LSD in it. 94 TT Supra auto torsen. Swapped it out in my home garage. Pics compared to the original open 4.083.
July 2021. I decided to rebuild my 30 year old R154 but didn’t want any down time so I picked up another to swap in while I did the rebuild. I’ll most likely rebuild it over the winter. Pics of the swap.
Next post I’ll detail my full black interior swap 😎
