hello team..iv been a member and lexus owner for a long time. before you guys hammer me on search function , i have searched alot , but havent found the firm answer... this is my issue. i live in ca , my 93 lexus is a federal and canadian standard car . i had my resonators removed like 6 years ago and passed every smog since. recently my vehicle with 250k miles failed because tech is saying i deleted the third catalytic converter. everything else passed with flying colors. so my question is are FED AND CANADA vehicles equiped with 2 cats n 3 resonators , or fed, canada and ca cars all have that 3rd cat? i need proof for the referee to sign me off. muffler shop only did it because they looked inside and verified it was a res. Any input? thank you
I think you are talking about SC400.
USA spec (50 states i.e. california) has 2 main cats. 1 sub cat, 2 resonators, 2 mufflers.
Exc. USA spec (federal & canada) has 2 cats, 3 resonators, 2 mufflers.
I have the shop manual diagram if you need them.

My 92 SC400 came with 2 Cats and 5 Mufflers. There are no 02 sensors past the middle muffler and I personally have looked through it and can tell you that it is a straight through muffler, similar to magnaflow design.
Although I can't explain why everyone else in the US has a catalytic converter there, I can tell you mine came from the factory with a resonator instead.
IIRC, On Autodata, the schematic says it's a catalytic converter.
thank you both ! account2x sorry..i forget to say haha its an sc400. and please if you could provide me shop manual diagrams showing the difference for ca and fed/canada. i would really appreciate it thank you so much.
