Hahaha, my 99 WS6 had that same flaw. I think GM did that on pupose. It was just to easy. The only problem was it wouldnt start without the fuse. I just ran the fuse on a switch, turned it on when I needed to start the car. It also was convenient when I was traveling, I would turn it on to see my speed, then set my cruise and flip the swithc. I could also periodicly turn it off to see my fuel gauge. I know it was wrong and I probably would never do it again. Hence the fact I have never even checked on my Lexus or previous cars. It just made it really nice at trade in time. Of course I still kept the car in mint condition so it really wasnt a problem. Also I did put most miles on it, just not all my trips from the Nort to the south. For that reason it really wasnt doubtful, unless you looked at the tires!!

Yeah.. I heard about the WS6...

However, the 94-96 Impala SS only shut off the odo...nothing else. Car ran perfectly without the fuse. Chevy even scanned the computers and found nothing different. MAJOR GOOF UP... so...be warned...never buy a used Impala SS

That is the same with the WS6. My friend worked at a chevy garage and told me there was no way they could detect that it had been done. I dropped a rod into my oil pan on my way to Nashville and had to get the car repaired there. I was terrified that they would find out. The only thing he said to me was that I hit 6800 RPM's causing the failure. He said it was due to the Hypertech programmer and that it wouldnt be warrantied again. I didnt really care. The car didnt drive the same after that repair so I took it home and traded it in about a week later.

That is pretty crazy on the Impala's that only the odomoter went out. I lost my whold instrument cluster when I pulled my fuse. I guess they "modified" the glitch a little to make it more difficult!

Right!

As soon as Mr. 007Lexus figured out where the fuse is, we may have something going...but until then, I wished the odometer on my lex was designed in a similar fashion as the Impala.
