Since day 1 I've been using 5.5 quarts to fill up to top notch on dipstick.
With the addition of the turbo, I have started putting in 6 quarts.

Most manuals have 2 oil capacities: With filter change and without.
The one without is usually almost a quart less.
I've also heard of people mistaking the tranny oil capacity for the crankcase capacity.

Read carefully and fill approximately, and then check the dipstick to fill accurately.

Good luck.

be sure to prime the oil filter by filling it first half way and cranking the engine without starting it a few times after doing a fill to be sure that the oil level takes into account the oil in the filter. Also, i think the best thing to do would be to let it run for a minute or so just to make sure all the oil is where its supposed to be so that you get an accurate read.
