Default New leather seats

I put a sandstone color leather package (leatherseats.com) in my 1995 SC300 this weekend. I ordered the package Monday, got it Wednesday, and installed it Friday and Saturday. I got a new emergency brake cover with the package, too. I also ordered a steering wheel cover, but it hasn't arrived yet...it was shipped from somewhere else. It took my brother-in-law and myself about 12 hours to do the job. I put too much contact cement on the center console cover, and it is a little lumpy...perhaps some time and hot weather will work the lumps out. Also, I can see in the photos that I need to drop the back seat backrest down about 1/4 inch...I didn't notice that until I took the pictures. I am happy with the seat covers, especially since I have never done anything like this before....I didn't even know what a "hog ring" looked like prior to opening the box on Friday morning!

Wow that looks really good. I was thinking about buying these from ebay...you think it might look the same? Was it a challenging job? did you have to remove the old covers or just slip these on?

The leather is suppose to be more flush with the foam. That is way too many wrinkles, use a heatgun to stretch the leather for a better fit. Nonetheless, a nice red sc!

Very nice, fit and finish is almost as good as OEM. Wow, it took 12 hrs to install all the seats?

So how does stretching the leather help? It seems like the leather needs to shrink, to me. If I heat the leather, where does the excess "stretch" go?

it took me the whole winter to get the leather just right, you may have to add extra foam to the bottom seats. the kit is not perfect as is so you will need to modify it a bit to get it to fit exactly like it was oem.

It looks like the rears are ok, but could be better. I used a hair dryer to heat the areas where there are wrinkles, then i stretched it as far as I can with my hands. for the rears it is important to do the middle sections first before doing the outer bits. I also added foam to the top to give it some extra cushion also to limit the amount of wrinkles.

The front seats are a bit of a pain, you will need to massage and use a good amount of heat to stretch out the wrinkles. Positioning of the leather is also KEY to making it fit flush to the OEM foam. Took me about installing a removing 5 times before I figured out how to install without any wrinkles. So you will need lots of practice and patience. Total I must of spent over 100 hours on my seats to get it the way I want it. Installed and reinstalled the setup over and over again. When you have time, try using a heat gun or hair dry to smoothen out then edges. You will be surprised how much better it fits.

Once you smoothen out the edges, it should fit like this. I also have pics from my setup, I'll post them later.

Your front seats centers look fine, looks like you need to pull the sides down a bit to compensate, again watch out for the location.

One Hot is giving you some great tips here . You can also steam your cushions which will soften them back up and expand them closer to their original size
