Old water pump was leaking. Previous owner broke the lip on thermostat housing and tried using sealer. Tired of the drip and time to fix all that shat. Got a new water neck to replace it. Got new timing belt, water pump, pulleys, tensioner, spark plugs, coils, caps and wires to install today. Gonna delete the power steering vacuum assist while in there and clean everything up. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.clu...5581af9c8c.jpg Getting down to business. https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.clu...b4ec1bb77f.jpg Cleaned everything as much as possible. Got it all looking pretty decent. No more leaks, dirt and oil. Also deleted that vacuum assist for the power steering. No more leaking on alternator. Also allowed a couple lines to be deleted in the process :) https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.clu...85c5ff89ca.jpg Pretty much back together besides the covers. Installed new distributor caps, coils, plugs and wires while in there. Successful Sunday spent :) |
Not quite sure how to upload video. Here's a video of my car idling after finishing up the timing belt job. It's pretty late though so I'll get a recording of some revs tomorrow :)
https://youtu.be/6tOHM83LyEo Okay took a drive to get some coffee this morning. Made a little video of some in car sound of the exhaust. Should have rolled up the window lol. Next time though :) 3.4 bfi, cat deletes, 2.25 piping all the way through x pipe and into raizer quad mufflers. https://youtu.be/2VHpOPrkW6k |
Drove it to work, and smiled the whole damn way.

12v fuel pump mod and installed a walbro 255lph fuel pump today :)

By this weekend I will replace the radiator and the belt in my '97 SC300 so it can be drivable. Bought it cheaper than it should've been with a few issues, but it was still a steal. After that, it all depends on how fast I can get money and the mods that I buy with them, but straight pipes are coming soon.

Slow day at the shop after lunch break. Decided to focus on my car instead ;P replaced both valve cover gaskets. Replaced pcv valve. Cleaned backside of throttle body as it was pretty dirty. Replaced ect sensor since I was down there anyway lol. Also did a throttle body coolant flow delete.
https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.clu...f8d74f8c4f.jpg Forgot to take before pic It was black and chunky though :P yum https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.clu...ae01e85808.jpg Throttle body removed. https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.clu...b26182029c.jpg Driver valve cover removed. Cams and valvetrain were pretty clean. No scoring or anything abnormal. Love these motors. Last forever and wear is so minimal over a long period of miles! ✌ https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.clu...9bb1056e4a.jpg Deleted and blocked off hot coolant lines going to throttle body. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.clu...4b01f2910b.jpg Making these bad boys nice and clean. Thank you parts washer! https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.clu...4c6a8d063b.jpg ♡ sc https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.clu...c556fb5b9e.jpg Finished and ready to roll. |

Some serious haze.. https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.clu...1ba8610bce.jpg Haze takes away from them good looks :P https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.clu...fb6e813f38.jpg Passenger side done :) https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.clu...d5f6a00c1a.jpg Driver side done! https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.clu...2976bc0fae.jpg Scrubbing that black plasti dip crap off :P took way too long. https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.clu...48cb37b1e8.jpg Washed the car while emblems off. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.clu...20173e1c81.jpg Looking pretty good without emblems actually. Lol may be a project in the future. Can't have holes there though. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.clu...856d881b29.jpg Emblems back on and finished :) not a bad afternoon. Time for some beer and pizza 🤙 Decided to sand and buff my headlights today. They were looking pretty yellow. Started with a scuff pad on them to take off the initial layer of yellow. Then wet sanded with 1500 grit. Followed by 2500 grit. After sanding used Maguire's cutting and buffing compound on a buffing pad and a my cheapo dealt drill✌ Previous owner used black plastic dip on emblems which I wasn't really feeling. Removed that and now the emblems pop. Ended the day off with a much needed wash! |

Scored a LSD perhaps?
I’m new to this forum so this is my first post. Went to the local junkyard here in Okinawa Japan. Came across an Aristo which someone already snatched up the 2J TT There was a jack nearby so I decided to left the rear end up and test the differential since my Soarer came with an open diff 4:08 even though it’s a factory 1JZ TT and 5 speed. Interesting results as both wheels turned together and the guy couldn’t hold the opposite side wheel from turning. I paid my $70 and had the guy remove the diff/axles and driveshaft. Took it to my friends garage where we proceeded to open it up to see what was inside. After doing some research it looks like to be non OEM LSD and appears to be a KAAZ LSD. Any other ideas of what this may be? https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.clu...62771898ba.jpg |
Put in an FM transmitter (Roav Anker). It surprisingly sounds really good, pairs phone automatically, and fitmemt in the lighter area is spot on.
