also fyi the shop that sold me the my wheels just gave me the diffs he said it both came from a sc300 but just to make sure would you guys know?

how can i find out what diff's i have? is there any part numbers on it? i think there are both open diffs? what is the one with the fins on the housing?

The one on the right looks like it came out of a Supra, cause it has the cooling ribs on the top. That doesnt meen is was a 5spd supra. All supra diffs looked like that till 97-98 when they used the housing on the left. I bought a diff from a 98 TT supra & mine looks like the one on the left. There is a way you can check the gear ratio. Its kinda hard, but you mark both sides that the axle's bolt up to & you mark the drive shaft side too. Then you spin both of them at the same time, making 10 full rotations. You count how many full rotations that the drive shaft side spins. So if its a 3.76 diff & i think thats what the 5spd ratio is, after making 10 full rotations the drive shaft side would have spun 3.7 times around.

Open the cover count the ring gear teeth and divide them by the pinion gear teeth....you will have your gear ratio.

take the rear cover off and look inside, youll be able to tell if its a torsen unit. You can also count the teeth on the ring gear and then figure out what ratio it is

***EDIT measure the driveshaft flange on the diff, if the one with the ribs one the casing has a bigger flange its most likely an auto tt supra diff

the one with ribs could also be one of the rare factory option LSD units

the torsen(auto tt supra) is on the left, the open diff is on the right
