Default REALLY? Card Board?

Apparently our cars interior are made out of 99% recycled compressed cardboard then breaks and splits as soon as you put ANY kind of slight pressure on it.

I just broke my rear deck trying to put it back in (gently I might add). So instead of trying to fix the issue I did a Hulk and destroyed that pos out of anger. I guess this is a good time to get that custom sub and rear deck made

A lot of cars do that. They use cheaper materials for components that would rarely be moved. That being said, the rear deck lid is one of those pieces that the designers didn't think that would be moved frequently.

I would normally agree, but every car I've ever had (RX7, Thunderbird SC, MR2, etc) have all had flimsy ABS pieces but I mean at least it was stronger than this junk.

Apparently the door handles are attached via this same junk and that's why they break so much (the tinter for the PO ripped the passenger one straight out).

The parts I've found to be made out of card are the middle door trims, rear parcel shelf and centre console. Everything else seems to be made from plastic.

In regards to trim breaking, all that's needed is care when putting it all back together. The weakest point though looks to be the upper and lower door trims, both moulded from plastic. The best thing to do if the trims aren't broken yet is to reinforce them with L-brackets on the inner two long screw mounts (screws into middle door section) and fibreglass on the upper door trims and near the speaker grilles on the lower trims.

Or if money permits, new OEM later series door trims (I haven't had any broken lower door trims on my 97, and I've owned it for about 5 years).

I was VERY gentle, until it split the third time. Then I was angry Tech and smash. It's literally sitting in pieces outside of my office right now, Office Space style (yes, I did jump up and down on it).

I'll try to find 97+ panels, but from what I see they're VERY hard to find.

He only had a passenger side door panel at the time, not the handle. I'm going to end up needing pretty much every new interior part one piece at a time. The interior in my car WAS a 7/10 now it's a 5/10 with the deck in pieces (*Whistling* Die Mother $*@$*@* Die *Whistling*). lol

LoL, same thing happened with my rear "parcel" deck cover. Here I am trying to be as gentle as possible removing it and it starts ripping. I eventually blew up and tore it out.

I got a new one and I am going to paper mache that beeotch on the underside to re-enforce it
