Default 2JZ + Tremec T56 ?????

So looking around at trans ideas and seeing the price go up and down on 6-speed's. I came accross this on egay..

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Custo...-/200486491705

what else is required to the Tremec to work behind a JZ series engine ? Flywheel ? This really peaks my interest since I seen Tremec's in my area for pretty cheap

that is just a CAD file though... so you'd have to machine it yourself.

yea I understand its a CAD file thats not the question. The question is once you have the adapter plate what else would be required to get it to work. Custom flywheel, clutch setup ? obviously the driveshaft would need to be custom but anything else clutch lines ?

theres a thread that they link to that covers mating an adapter for the 1uz for the auto bellhousing to an R154 trans listing all the various parts. you could probably work out a mix and match flywheel/clutch setup from the 2 cars. I'm guessing the driveshaft is probably the most custom part.

I'm going to subscribe to this thread. If someone gets some good info and actually does the swap, I would be very interested in doing this myself. Someone needs to get the file and just mass produce it. Make more money than selling a stupid file.....kind of a dumb to sell a file many people can send to others-for free.

I'm subscribed with enthusiasm. T56 transmissions can be purchased for small money.

One thing to note as I've been researching LSx swaps; there are different shifter locations for different flavors of T56 transmissions out there as you can see below just like our W58/R154s!

There's a couple of T56 shifted Soarers here in Oz that I've heard of, from what I remember they're all V8's.

Getrags are almost bulletproof. I would aim for that as it is almost just bolt in.

Guys please lets not make this a Tremec vs. Getrag thread. This is simply looking for info on doing a Tremec swap into the SC, since it sounds like the Australians are already doing it
