Default Some new pics...

Last week I got my exhaust redone again, with bigger, straighter pipes. Since I couldn't put in smog-legal dual cats, the guy just ran dual pipes out of the single cat. Oh yeah, I got my mufflers tucked Manaray . One finger gap is as high as it goes because of a bolt head that protrudes from the muffler shield. Here's some pics I just snapped...

Very NICE!! What kind of mufflers are those? And when did you convert to 97 taillights? Did you have to switch anything else besides the taillights? Like the wiring with the bulbs on it?

Here's a close up of the '97 tail lights in a pre-97 SC. As you can see, on the inner corner of the tail lights, there is some minor spacing issues with the alignment of the bumper cover. I did have to drill some new holes in my rear end to mount the tail lights (actually DevilDogIS300 drilled them). I changed the tail lights one by one, and with the '92 in the left side and the '97 in the right, there was NO QUESTION that the '97s looked better. Ask Manaray on that, he saw the comparison in person too.

Thanks Tony! Those are the infamous Magnaflow Mirror Street series 14829. Ran about $150 each. The tail lights came complete with a fitting wiring harness and all the bulbs included (plug and play install) for $160 each at Carson Toyota. I had them installed a few weeks ago when I was down in LA. You can buy just the housing without the bulbs or wiring for something like $120 each.

Neal, it's actually damn quiet! They are quieter than stock, which is why I had all four mufflers removed, larger, straighter pipes installed, and a larger cat outlet. It's still not loud at all, it's more of a deep purring sound, and is definately not ricer--I hate farty ricer exhaust. They are American mufflers made by a company specializing in American cars, and we have a V8 motor, so it sounds like a much milder Mustang V8 exhaust. Sound output varies greatly from a cold startup to coming off the freeway. On a cold startup, the mufflers are quieter than hell, you have to really listen for it. But coming off the freeway after some high rpm driving and a warmed engine, it sounds real meaty like a hotrod, especially when you start to get on it from 0-40mph.

Yeah, I do! I just found out one of my rims is bent on the inner lip! I might have to buy my friend's cheesy Zenetti wheels for now just because I'm strapped for cash and my insurance is about to renew at $7200/12 months!!! Time for a new broker!

$7200??? Jesus christ!!! Call Geico, I pay 1/4 that and I drive like Micheal Schumacher! I have my mufflers at more of an angle, and they sure are quiet, especially with the resonators in the exhaust.

Yeah, I cancelled my AAA, the cheapest I found was AIS (Auto Insurance Specialists), which quoted me $3600/year. I'll try Geico too, love those tv commericials . I thought they only offered cheaper insurance to good drivers? My situation is kind of shady, 19-year-old with 3 tickets good for 4 points, one was speeding in excess of 100mph in a 250hps sport coupe (no accidents to my name though). Did you know they have a different scale for rating cars with over 200hps? What kind of cars doesn't have 200hps these days?!

You still have your resonators in? I started the car up with the resonators in and knew right away they had to go! I remember the car was quiet like a Camry, and I had spent $400 for that result! I guess my exhaust shouldn't be too loud, being as our cars aren't all that fast...

HA.... lucky you
im 19 too
but... im at 13 tickets...
and been involvedin three accidents

doesnt look to hott for me

none of the accidents were my fault
they were each caused by someone else
but accidents do help...
you get insurance money ... and then you get to buy a body kit
and have your whole car repainted
