Default fuel pump? your call

for the past 2-3 weeks my car has been having trouble starting after being ran, for example i'll drive into town 10 miles, and when i start my car back up it sometimes takes two attempts to start.
it turns over but it sounds like it's not getting fuel.

i drove 30 miles to seattle not thinking about it and now it wont start. is there a port in the engine bay to bypass and check if the fuel pumps the problem? my car is stuck in some nieghborhood and i need to fix it pronto! any ideas? thanks

It looks to me like you can jump pins 1 and 12(+B and FP) in the diagnostic connector under the hood to make the pump come on. The key will have to be in the ON position for this to work. I doubt you can run it like this, but if the pump does come on and you can hear fuel running through the rail, then you should be able to do the 12v mod to get the car home. Here is the 12v mod: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/per...tures-faq.html

Good luck.

thank you! but does the fuel pump have anything to do with my problem? or do you think splicing the wires together and bypassing will fix my problem?

I had them same issue. It was my fuel pump. Very quick and easy to change out. Car ran great for two weeks, then issue started again. Car is currently at the mechanics and he thinks that the throttle sensors are bad. Again, those are quick and easy to change out. Good luck to you.
