1st generation SC400 with 2nd generation upper intake
What's the difference in runner sizes?
I did something like that on a VW;swapped a 2.0 intake for the original 1.8,difference was like 44mm versus 40mm.
I wonder if the 4.3 has anything compatible with the older 4.0 motors?
When I did that to the VW,I went to a junkyard and told them I needed an intake to port out,and offered my old one back when I was done,it wound up costing $30 after they refunded me something when I brought the old one back.

I am asking this question is because of my intercooler setup. FMIC is very small and it can not handle too much HP. Water to Air is not good for Street use. Therefore, Top mount Intercooler (TMIC) is the only choice. The 1st generation 1UZFE upper intake is 90 degree to the right and 2nd gen. is straight toward the front. If i can put the 2nd G. into 1st G., than i can use Ford Powerstroker intercooler for $260 on ebay.
Its brand new. Its great to TT Kit intercooler.

As usual i'm confused by your logic. How do you figure a top-mount IC is superior to a FMIC? Are you familiar with a condition called heat soak? And you can't swap the intakes, you'll wish you started with a VVT-i motor in the first place.
