Default how to remove rear speed sensor?

How do i remove the rear speed sensor without damaging it? Is there a special tool or way to do it? I didnt want to take a pair of pliers to it cause i wasnt sure if I would damage it.

i believe the speed sensor is built into the transmission

I mean the rear ABS sensor that is hooked up to the suspension knuckle
